Anna Konkle

Konkle is an actress, writer, director, and showrunner best known for co-creating and starring in Hulu’s Pen15, which earned Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series and Writing for both seasons. In Season 2, she took bigger creative swings—directing the surreal animated cult favorite “Jacuzzi” and “Luminary” (aka “the walk for cancer”), which later went viral, garnering over 20 million views on TikTok.

Her work often lives in the space between painfully real and slightly unhinged. She is currently writing a feature for Sony Live Nation and will publish her debut memoir, The Sane One, with Random House on May 5. Konkle was featured on the cover of Publishers Weekly, a rare welcome into the literary world.

As an actor, she appears in Apple TV+’s The Afterparty and Murderbot, where she plays the unexpectedly menacing Leebeebee, and her episode “Hannah” was widely recognized as a standout. She will next appear in Hacks and in upcoming projects with Joe Swanberg, Jason Orley, and Josh Trank— continuing to move between comedy and darker tonal work.

She also co-stars alongside Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Zach Cherry and Ted Travelstead in the upcoming animated Netflix series Dealies. Over the next several months David will reveal more new music, he notes that uncovering his most authentic voice has involved finding self-assurance in unexpected places. “Growing up in the church, I was taught to stand up for my beliefs and share them with the world, which is exactly what I’m trying to do with my music,” he says. “Even though I stand for something else now, I still have that same level of conviction in what I do. I believe in being bold in my vulnerability and speaking the truth of who I am, so that hopefully people can come away from my songs feeling like they understand themselves, or others, or just life in general a little better than they did before.”
