Bub Carrington is a professional basketball player and point guard for the Washington Wizards. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Carrington was selected 14th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. Since joining the Wizards, he has made an immediate impact, becoming one of the first players to appear in all 82 games in each of his first two seasons. In May 2025, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team and later selected for the NBA Rising Stars Game in 2026.

Carrington played college basketball at the University of Pittsburgh, where he emerged as an elite talent for the Panthers. He played local AAU basketball with Team Melo and attended St. Frances Academy, where he became the first player in nearly a decade to score more than 1,000 points in a season. His impressive freshman campaign earned him a spot on the ACC All-Rookie Team in 2024.

Beyond the court, Carrington is dedicated to giving back to his community, with a focus on mental and physical wellness. He is a founding partner of Breaking Chains, a Baltimore-based nonprofit founded in 2015 by his mother, Karima Carrington, and his late father, Carlton “Big Bub” Carrington Jr., which aims to build hope through mental, physical, and emotional prosperity. He also makes ongoing contributions to MedStar Health, supporting community health programs across the DMV. His commitment to community engagement earned him the fifth annual Washington Wizards Dr. E.B. Henderson Award. Carrington is an active hiker, has a passion for fashion, and has partnered with global footwear brand New Balance.
