Dara Resnik
Dara Resnik is a writer and showrunner of prestige series like the award-winning Home Before Dark for Apple TV+, and the highly acclaimed The Horror of Dolores Roach for Amazon Studios and Blumhouse. She is currently developing a series about Robert Durst and an adaptation of romance novel Viable Threat both for UCP/Peacock. Resnik is an experienced writer and producer whose credits also include Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Pushing Daisies, Mistresses, Castle, Jane the Virgin, Shooter, Joey Soloway's I Love Dick, and Marvel's Daredevil as well as Echo. In 2026, Resnik wrote and produced the fully independent film California Scenario with her partner James Takata. Shot for $150k in 10 days, it debuted at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and is in active distribution talks. Resnik is a professor of TV and screenwriting at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, and teaches across the globe for Sundance, Rideback, Veterans in Media and Entertainment, Almanack, Humanitas, the US State Department’s Middle East Media Initiative in Saudi Arabia, and Stories LLC in Japan. Resnik also loves to write poetry and practice aikido in her spare time. She lives in LA with her daughter and two rescue pups.
